Project summary
The key bottlenecks for PEMFC to reach commercial breakthrough are performance, service life and cost. All these issues are addressed in CATBOOSTER by focusing on the electrocatalysts.
The project starts with development of fundamental materials as durable supports and active catalysts, based on which gas diffusion electrodes and membrane-electrode-assemblies will be fabricated. In close collaboration with other parallel PEMFC projects the materials and components will be tested in single cells and stacks. Major efforts will be made for both LT and HT PEMFCs.
